  • Chem Lab Safety - Chemistry Department, University of Nebraska - Lincoln: intended specifically for the high school chemistry laboratory environment, appropriate student attire and behavior is addressed. The use of laboratory and safety equipment is explained. Proper procedures for common laboratory practices, such as heating test tubes and adding acids to water, are also explained.
  • Chemical and Other Safety Information, Oxford University
  • Chemistry Laboratory Safety Rules  - Make your chemistry laboratory experience safe by following these simple rules
  • Flinn ScientificaSafety Materials and Information
  • Laboratory Safety Manual - University of Texas at Arlington: covers general safety information, emergency procedures and equipment, the Hazard Communication Act, chemical and biological hazards and control, chemical and special wastes, and disposal of wastes. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the document.
  • Laboratory Survival Manual - University of Virginia: while specific for the University's situation, much of the first aid and emergency procedures, general lab practices, labeling, and safety equipment information is pertinent to high school chemistry laboratories.
  • Laboratory Safety Guidelines
  • Old Nomenclature Reference Source, University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services
  • Safety in the Laboratory - Gwen Sibert, Roanoke Valley Governor's School: addresses safety rules which can be adapted for your laboratory.
  • Safety Rules in the General Chemistry Laboratory  An excellent resource for teachers, includes a student quiz and all general information
